Parent Visa Temporary (Subclass 870)
Subclass 870 is temporary parent visa which van be granted for period of 3-5 years. Unlike other parent visas this visa does not require the parent to satisfy the balance of family test. Total maximum time spend on this visa is 10 years on multiple visa applications if required. This visa does not lead to any pathway for permanent residency in Australia. Applicant must have approved parent sponsor who is Australian citizen, PR or eligible NZW citizen before vis application. To eligible for this visa, you must have child who is Australian citizen, PR or eligible NZW citizen This visa also requires sponsor which must be Australian citizen, PR or eligible NZW citizen. Sponsor can sponsor parent or parent-in-law for this visa.
This visa two stage process:
- Application for sponsorship approval
- Visa application (only after the approved sponsorship)
